    May 07, 2008 Designed for portable devices, mobile phones, laptop and desktop LCDs, keypads, and keyboards, Microlens(TM) Light Guides feature MicroLens(TM) light extraction technology, which reduces number of LEDs required. They provide bright, uniform light in thin form factor with no hot spots or dark areas. Light is extracted precisely where needed, such as around thru-holes for keypads, and devices can backlight LCD displays in sizes from 0.25-50 in. diagonal.

    Mar 18, 2008 LED-based backlight utilizes MicroLens(TM) technology to extract more light through to keyboard while spreading light uniformly. Diversion features can be molded directly into light guide to bend any portion of light around potential thru-hole, and LEDs can be located on edge of light guide or in middle of backlight, depending-upon surrounding geometry. For desktop/laptop keyboards, backlight thickness is 0.6-0.8 and 0.3-0.4 mm, respectively.

    May 26, 2004 MicroLens(TM) molded light guides provide backlight that saves extra step of adding overlay and adhesive to illuminate logo on products. They enable full control of size, shape, depth, pitch, density, and angle of rotation. Utilizing white, green, red, or blue LEDs, uniformly illuminated logos can be designed with any text or image for applications including notebook computers, consumer electronics, appliances, and automotive dashboards and exteriors.

PDA backlight assembly utilizes 4 white LEDs and provides brightness of >2000 cd/mē to 2.5 in. diagonal screen. MicroLens(TM) technology allows LEDs to be molded directly into light guide. CCFL light guide utilizes L-shaped CCFL to provide luminance of 6500-7000 cd/mē for 7 in. diagonal screen, with full VGA color. Bulb current is only 6 mA.

    Jun 04, 2002 SolidState(TM) Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp (CCFL) backlight assembly is suited for use with 15-inch desktop TFT (thin film transistor) LCD monitors. Backlighting panel incorporates proprietary MicroLens(TM) technology, through which light extraction features are precision-molded into panel. Up to 30,000 optical features per square inch can be individually customized to optimize light ray angles. Increases in brightness can be seen up to 25%.
