PPTC/Zener Diode Devices protect consumer electronics.

November 5, 2014

Combining Zener diode and resettable PolySwitch PPTC device in 4.0 x 5.0 x 1.2 mm package, PolyZen ZEN056V230A16YC and ZEN056V260A16YC simultaneously protect against damage from overload, overcurrent, reverse-bias, ESD, and overtemperature events. Hybrid units offer up to 2.6 A hold-current at room temperature, ±30 kV ESD protection, and 8/20 µs pulse = 150 A overvoltage protection to help meet IEC standards. Applications include tablets, set-top boxes, hard disk drives, and DC power ports. Read More

Silicon ESD Devices offer 20 kV air discharge rating.

March 28, 2014

Exhibiting ±20 kV and ±22 kV air discharge ratings, SESD Series helps designers solve pervasive protection challenge caused by charged board events. Products come in uni-directional and bi-directional configurations with input capacitance of 0.30 and 0.15 pF, respectively. Clamping voltage of less than 15 V helps facilitate fast turn-on time and minimize energy let-through to sensitive down-stream chipsets. Surge capability is 2.2 A for 4-channel array and 2.5 A for 1- and 2-channel devices. Read More
