Providing 50% greater modulus/stiffness than standard neat PEEK grades, KetaSpire® KT-825 retains elongation and toughness that is comparable to that of neat PEEK resin for structural applications in transportation, electronics, semiconductor, and oil and gas. Dielectric strength per ASTM D149 at thickness of 3.2 mm is 26.0 kV/mm (660 V/mil) as compared with 15.2 kV/mm (385 V/mil) for neat PEEK. Offering ductility and resistance to cracking during demolding and machining, KetaSpire® KT-810 features melt viscosity ranging from 0.51–0.65 kPa-s compared to 0.38-0.50 kPa-s for standard high-viscosity PEEK grades. Material is available in fine powder with average particle size of approximately 50 µm for compression molding, and pellet form for extrusion and injection molding. High-heat (HH) grades of Amodel® polyphthalamide (PPA) resin include 33% glass reinforced A-4133HH and 45% glass reinforced A-4145HH. Testing shows 75% retention of tensile strength after heat aging for 3,000 hr at 446°F and after 1,000 hr at 482°F. Formulated to meet operating temperature and lifetime service demands of downsized turbocharged engines and under-the-hood applications, chemical-resistant resins also maintain mechanical properties when thermally aged at 320°F and 374°F.
