Change Management Expert to headline Lean, Six Sigma conference.

University of Michigan professor, author, and change management expert Jeffrey K. Liker, Ph.D. will keynote Lean and Six Sigma Conference, which will take place March 4–5, 2013 in Phoenix, AZ and feature "Sustaining Results" theme. With 50+ sessions, event will provide new applications of lean and Six Sigma, examine future of said methodologies, and show how they can be applied to various industries. CEA Announces Best of Innovations Design/Engineering honorees.

CEA® announced International CES® Best of Innovations 2013 Design and Engineering Award honorees for their advancements across 29 consumer electronics product categories, including 2 new trend-focused categories: Accessible and Universal Design Technologies, and Tech for Better World. AEM salutes companies for industry service.

AEM recognizes 4 companies who have achieved "milestone member" status in 2012, a designation that highlights their industry support through longtime and continuous participation in the association. Gorman-Rupp Company in Mansfield, OH is the latest company achieving 75-year AEM member status. Companies achieving 25-year-member status include: HUSCO International in Waukesha, WI; Leon's Manufacturing Company in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada; and Master Craft Industrial Equipment in Tifton, GA. NREL/DOE Launch Web Tools for alternative transportation.

NREL launched interactive Petroleum Reduction Planning Tool and redesigned Department of Energy's (DOE) Alternative Fuels Data Center (AFDC) Web site to help fleet managers, municipalities, and consumers choose alternative fuels and energy efficiency strategies for reducing petroleum use, vehicle emissions, and operating costs. AFDC provides information, data, and tools that facilitate deployment of alternative fuels, advanced vehicles, and fuel economy improvements. Read More

IPC Executive Management Meetings to take place February 18, 2013.

Prior to IPC APEX EXPO®, IPC EMS Management Council Meeting will include economic update for small–to-medium EMS companies and M&A update for Tier 2 and 3 companies. AEM has elected Stuart Levenick, Group President of Caterpillar, Inc., as Chair and Richard Patek, President Telsmith Group VP Aggregate and Mining of Astec Industries Inc., as Vice Chair. Treasurer is Michael Haberman, President of Gradall Industries Inc., and Secretary is Dennis Slater, AEM’s full-time President. In addition, Robert Kolb of GEA Farm Technologies Inc. was chosen as AG Sector Board Chair and John Patterson of JCB Inc. was picked for CE Sector Board Chair. Read More

NREL receives accolades from industry groups and DOE.

NREL and its employees have garnered awards from industry groups for advancing energy research as well as furthering lab's sustainable operating practices. Bryan Pivovar was named Charles W. Tobias Young Investigator by Electrochemical Society, while John Turner received Lectureship Award from Japan Society of Coordination Chemistry. Matt Keyser was honored by CO-LABS with Award for High Impact Research. Also, DOE presented NREL with Sustainability Award for Comprehensive Energy Management. Read More

AEM Hall of Fame recognizes and celebrates outstanding individuals in the off-road equipment industry, and their legacy of innovation, service, and leadership. The 2012 inductees include John Deere, Pierre Bataille, and Wood Brothers - Keith, Leonard and Mervel.
