CEA® announced that U.S. FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler and U.S. FTC Chairwoman Edith Ramirez will be featured speakers at the 2015 International CES®. European Commission, Agency endorse modernization initiative.

European Commission and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) endorsed global "CS23/Part 23 Reorganization" initiative, which will modernize how smaller airplanes are certified and lead to aviation authorities modernizing their own certification rules. Based on 16 draft standards being developed by ASTM International Committee F44 on General Aviation Aircraft, initiative intends to cut cost and increase safety of general aviation airplanes and technology. Proposed ASTM Standard addresses pigment loss on ignition.

November 20, 2014

Pigment manufacturers use loss on ignition test to determine water of hydration or crystallized water. Proposed standard, ASTM WK46877, Test Method for Pigment Loss on Ignition, will provide definitive instructions for conducting this common test. Manufacturers will use results of testing as means for product validation. Test will also be used to determine both the acceptable and detrimental levels of water for different types of pigments.
