PTDA Vanguard Contributors helps build carreer awareness.

EPA strengthens conflict of interest review process.

May 14, 2013

U.S. EPA announced that it has improved its conflict of interest review process for contractor-managed peer reviews. Agency has put a new oversight process in place to ensure that contractors follow all existing conflicts of interest guidance and requirements. In addition, EPA will now ensure that the public has the opportunity to review and comment on peer review panel’s composition when influential scientific documents are being considered. Hydraulic Institute enlists participants to review new standard.

Hydraulic Institute, under approval of ANSI, is seeking qualified individuals to participate in review process of a new standard entitled Rotary Condition Monitoring. Designed for rotary pumps, including sealed and seal-less designs, document is intended to be used as a guide for pump monitoring and failure detection techniques as elements of process safety management and general pump availability programs. BIO Applauds Senate Agriculture Committee for draft Farm Bill.

BIO thanked Senators Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) and Thad Cochran (R-MS) and other Senate Agriculture Committee members for including mandatory funding for Energy Title programs as well as eligibility for renewable chemicals in draft Farm Bill reauthorization legislation. According to BIO's Brent Erickson, granting eligibility for renewable chemical projects "will revive America's manufacturing sector and improve U.S. economic competitiveness." Read More
