IPC and TCMA Announce Keynote Speaker for Technical Conference.

Announced jointly by IPC and SMTA, High-Reliability Cleaning and Conformal Coating Conference (November 18–20, 2014) focuses on best practices and new innovative technologies for meeting manufacturing challenges and producing reliable hardware. Technical Conference keynote speaker Mark McMeen, VP of Technology at STI Electronics, will present on funded research with U.S. Military & Defense that quantifies effects of flux residues and other contaminants remaining under component terminations. Trucking Industry Leaders open MC&E grand exhibit hall.

October 10, 2014

American Trucking Associations President and CEO Bill Graves, along with ATA's incoming chairman Duane Long and outgoing chairman Phil Byrd, opened Management Conference & Exhibition's (MC&E) grand exhibit hall, which features nearly 170 exhibitors. That number includes 20 companies exhibiting for first time. Long expressed awe over variety of technologies and services on display, while Byrd noted how MC&E exhibit hall floor catered to companies "looking for an edge."

Tooling U-SME presented its Platinum Education Center (TUPEC) designation to 6 community and technical colleges: Atlantic Technical College (FL); Fayetteville (NC) Technical Community College; Greenfield (MA) Community College; Kellogg Community College (MI); Southern Oklahoma Technology Center (OK); and Arizona Advanced Manufacturing Institute of Mesa Community College (AZ). SPE announces winners of annual thermoforming competition.

SPE has announced winners of the SPE Thermoforming Division annual parts competition. They were presented in 11 categories as well as in a student parts competition. Jerrold Ancheta won first prize for "Vacuum Form Transradial Prosthesis," and Madeline Freding won second prize for "Re-Form". One of the category winners, Associated Thermoforming, Inc., also received the Peoples' Choice award for the "Bowling Pin Elevator" based on a poll of attendees. Read More
