Gasoline: Specifications, Testing, and Technology training course will focus on properties and specifications of gasoline and how they affect gasoline performance in spark ignition engine. Published in English and French, International Standard ISO 11783-12:2009 provides diagnostic system requirements for serial data network systems on forestry or agricultural tractors. It prescribes method and format of electronic transfer of data between sensors, actuators, control elements, and information storage and display units. FMA Poll shows teen disinterest in manufacturing careers.

Sponsored by NBT, September 2009 poll of 500 teens, aged 13-17, shows that 52% have little or no interest in manufacturing, another 21% are ambivalent. When asked why, 61% said they seek professional career. According to Gerald Shankel, President of NBT, educators and counselors often do not view manufacturing as viable career. Separate national poll of 1,000 adults reveals 56% would recommend their child pursue career in manufacturing or another kind of industrial trade. Read More

Standard addresses seat belt assemblies on tractors.

Published in English and French, ISO 3776-3:2009 was developed by technical experts from Europe, Asia, North and South America, working through committee of ISO. International standard specifies requirements for seat belt assemblies on agricultural tractors and self-propelled machinery, and is the third in a series of standards related to seat belt requirements.
