According to statement made by AIA President and CEO Marion C. Blakey, passage of bipartisan Export-Import Bank Reauthorization by Senate is a very welcome development. The bank has been a revenue generator for U.S. government and levels the playing field for U.S. exporters. Three-year reauthorization and extended lending authority of $140 billion is particularly helpful to small- and medium-sized manufacturers who need to boost their exports to offset shrinking federal budgets.
